Synopsis: ...

...You know so much about the universe. I’ve seen a lot of your videos on youtube. And you’ve talked about geometry and I saw that video. The largest telescope on earth is not able to get a picture of the nearby galaxy. It’s so far. So I wanted to ask you why did god make things which are not even visible to human beings? Or we’re not able to travel there.

Is human being capable of being a godman? | Sadhguru in Conversation with Barkha Dutt | #4

Synopsis: Tell us a little bit about yourself. One of the things that she has said is that you give great space for descent, you like a good argument. That you’re not one of those dictatorial gurus. But you’re saying that many people who are positioning themselves as gurus are really only elevating themselves and fooling people. But, a very genuine concern, is whether godmen...

... are often conmen. And how does this lady here know the difference between who’s a godman and who’s a conman. And is a human being capable of being a godman? Do you think of yourself as  godman? How do I make a difference between a godman and a conman if I don’t even believe that humans can be godly? I think humans can be great, and strong, and inspiring, but I don’t think they have magical powers.

If God doesn’t necessarily exist, why do we need gurus? | Sadhguru in Conversation with Barkha Dutt | #1

Synopsis: Let me start with the spiritual. And I hope what you say today is also addressed to the skeptics. I count myself among a skeptic, who if told, that another human being possesses some sort of godly power, I would perhaps, as a first instinct not believe it. But what I find interesting about what you, some of your sayings is captured by Arundhati Subramaniam in this book,...

Synopsis: Sadhguru, when you said about the common person and the special person. I know some teachers have always told us, and why your parents always tell you, that you know, you are special. Each one of us is unique. I remember this part, I’m not sure whether I heard it at your discourse, or in a DVD of yours, it was about people being special and us always thinking that...

... god knows of us. And you said something like, do you know all the grasshoppers in your garden? So, of course all of us said no. So, you said something like, how does god know each of you then? And I was devastated. Because I always thought somebody up there knows me and I’m special. I’ve been told since I was a kid, you're special, you’re unique, and god cares about you.

Go Beyond The Conditioning of Your Belief

Sadhguru says - "When it comes to God, you have been told to believe; nobody told you to explore Divinity". The intellect is only useful for survival. Exploring deeper dimensions of life through the five senses will not yield results. These are not the right instruments; and without appropriate instruments, people are bound to jump to wrong conclusions.

Religion and Technology – What Will it Lead To?

It is only man that inflicts evil upon another man - not any other force. Over ages, it has been done over various reasons, usually economic or egoistic. But when people start believing that they are fighting for their god, there is no looking back. When your belief and my belief don't agree, then clash is inevitable. One very important aspect is that religion should be an individual pursuit - it can not be a national or a global agenda. Unless this is done, a large part of humanity could suffer, because of the empowerment that today's technology provides. We have to use these technological advancements to bring about a positive change.

What Is The Significance of Indian Temples?

An Indian temple is not a place to petition god. They are energized spaces. They are consecrated to create an energy device to be made use of. Sadhguru says - "What was a tremendous science and a phenomenal technology, has largely been reduced by people to an emotional thing today". Each temple is created for a specific purpose. Sadhguru says - "Particularly in southern India, we created five temples to gain mastery over the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind and space".

Where Is God?

This is a very profound article! Sadhguru says - "In Indian culture, there is no necessity that you must visit a “formal” temple. One can instantly convert anything into God, wherever they are." He adds - "Whatever you may pursue in this existence, if you pursue it steadily enough, for long enough, or if you pursue something to its end, you will always see that what we refer to as the Divine is the dead end".
