Over a period it absorbed a lot of Yogic and Tantric cultures. Padmasambava brought Buddhism to Tibet 1300 years ago; and weaved Bon religion prevalent in Tibet at that time with Buddhism. Later Tibetan Buddhism also absorbed elements of Kashmiri Shaivism, as the people moved further North into Tibet because of invasions.
