All this was very much there. But, we must also understand, life has changed. Today women are going to work. They have to get into that horrible bus, where they're pushed around. It doesn't matter she's pregnant. And all kinds of things. All kinds of fumes, all kinds of sounds, all kinds of noises, all kinds of abuse. Every kind of thing is happening to her. In some way, we're doing that to the child also. There is no job in the country, or in the world, where you can take off for one and a half years and get back to the job to fulfill this. For various reasons, we are not taking the business of manufacturing the next generation of people with sufficient care. We are not paying enough attention to it, for which we will pay a price. Over a period of time we will pay an immense price for that. But, we're definitely not taking enough care about it in the entire world, not just in this country. Because, we have got all kinds of social situations which do not allow that space for a woman to dedicate that kind of time and attention. See, being pregnant is not just about reproduction. We're literally manufacturing the next generation of people. Isn't it? Is it not important, of all the products that you produce on this planet, is it not most important that we produce wonderful human beings for the future generation? Is it not the most important? But, we have created a social situation, and an economic situation, where there is no such possibility to take care of these things. To whatever extent individual women, or individual families can take care of it, they can take care of it. But for the larger society, it is out of question because things have changed. You can't turn it back just like that.

If you make the raw material dirt, the product is bound to be dirt, isn't it? The most foolish thing that we have done in the name of science is, we have reduced everything in the universe into a commodity. In this culture, we don't see anything as a commodity. We see everything as ingredients of life. So this is why, food comes, water comes, air, the sky, the sun, the moon, a stone, a tree, anything. Because it's not something that you can use and throw. You cannot use and throw anything in this existence. It passes through you. It is you for a certain period of time. After that it becomes something else. You're only a relay runner, you're not the runner on the planet. Everything goes through you. The air that you're breathing right now, the very body that you carry right now, it has been millions of bodies in the past. It has been an insect, an animal, a snake, a cow, a monkey, a human being. I'm not talking about evolutionary process, I'm talking about the soil going through every form of life. So this is not a commodity. This is older than you, wiser than you, far more intelligent than you, far more capable than you, a far bigger process than you are as a person.

So for yoga, for sexuality, for friendship, for being together, for study, for focus, for all these things, night seems to be more conducive. Because the difference between what is you and what is the other comes down in the night. Simply because our visual apparatus functions like this. Where there is no light, everything merges in our experience. So a yogi, a bogie, and a rogue, all three of them make use of the night. You can also make use of it. There is no problem, unless you're sleeping in the classroom. If you're not sleeping in the classroom, it's fine, nothing wrong with it. But, you will see, you try this and see. For every position of the sun, moon, and many things that are happening to the planet, they're happening to you. You must become life-sensitive. Then, you will know how to manage every aspect of your life. Don't become ego-sensitive. Don't become society-sensitive. Say it loudly. Stupid. That's all, if you say that slowly it'll drop off. Now there is a certain chemical factor to this. Your chemistry has become dependent on nicotine or caffeine or whatever. That we will change, you just see. You do Shambhavi Mahamudra, suddenly your whole system is so fired up. The need to smoke, the need to drink coffee, tea, everything just evaporates. Now if you do it, it's only for the pleasure of it. One day you feel like drinking coffee, you drink it. One day you feel like smoking, you smoke. That's upto you. But the compulsion will be taken away. Physiological dependence will be taken away. We'll do that with the practice. But first you see that it's stupid to do it.

Go for lukewarm showers, it makes you alert. So you will think, oh I cannot sleep. It doesn't matter. You will sleep 15-20 minutes or half an hour later, but you will sleep better because it will take away certain things. When you shower, it is not just the dirt on the skin that you are taking away. Have you noticed, if you are very tense or anxious whatever. Just a shower and you came out and feels like almost the burden has been taken away from you. Have you not noticed this? So it's not just about washing the skin. A whole lot of things happen when water flows over your body. This shower is a very rudimentary Bhuta Shudhi. Because over 70% of your body is actually water. If you run water over it, a certain purification happens which is beyond cleaning the skin. One more thing if you want to do, you just light an organic oil lamp. A cotton wick, some oil, anything, what do you use here? Normal cooking oil, linseed oil, rice bran oil, or sesame oil. What do you have? Olive oil. Fine. Any organic oil with a cotton wick. Just burn a little lamp somewhere in the room where you sleep. You will see these things will completely disappear. So everyday in the night, all of you should do this before you go to bed. Last three minutes, everything that you have gathered, the body, the content of the mind, things. Don't ignore small things, small things are big things. I've seen how people are carrying their own private pillow, you know. Because it's very important. So your pillow, your footwear, if you have relationships, everything that you have gathered, keep it aside. Sleep. The right food to eat to keep you awake and alert

Sadhguru explains that our the building block for our body is the food that we consume. The food that we eat should depend on our activity. A laborer, an athlete, a spiritual seeker, a software engineer and a student - they should all choose certain kind of food suitable for their activity. Sadhguru says - "Ask the body – not your tongue – what kind of food it is most comfortable with." Sadhguru tells us that in yogic system, food is classified as tamas, rajas and sattva. In terms of quality of food, vegetarian food is better than non-vegetarian food. Sadhguru also explains that coffee and tea, being nervous stimulants, though will make you feel alert and awake initially - but they will dull your nervous system and make you insensitive.
