Why is it Important to Meditate?
Meditation (dhyana) means to go beyond the limitations of the physical body and the mind. The body and the mind are just accumulations over a period of time - body is just a heap of food one has eaten and the mind is just a heap of impressions one has gathered from the outside. The body and the mind are just like bank balance - they are your property but they are NOT You. Just like one has a home and a bank balance, one has a body and a mind. A good bank balance, a good body and a good mind are needed to live a good life, but they are not sufficient. The instruments of the body and mind are okay for survival, but they will not fulfill a human being because the quality of a human being is to seek something more. Human life will not be fulfilled with just eating, sleeping, reproducing and dying. All those things are needed in one's life, but still one will not feel complete even if one has fulfilled all these things. This is because the quality of a human being has crossed a certain boundary of awareness. It has to seek something more, otherwise it will never be satisfied. It has to become 'Unlimited' – and Meditation or dhyana is a way of moving into the unlimited dimension of who you are.

You just have to eat sensibly, play tennis or take a swim. The focus of Yoga is to set another dimension alive within you that is beyond the physical".

Sadhguru tells us that among all the senses that a human being has the visual perception has the most significant impact.
